Carbon Footprints

2nd April 2015 :

Friends, Yesterday as i set foot from my home in Germany, i had two available options to reach airport. I was authorised to take a Mercedes taxi the cost of which would be a part of my travel expense and hence refundable. I could also go in public transport and claim refund for the amount too. So the journey would not have any personal cost angle for me, irrespective of the option i took.
While the former was no doubt convenient but would lead to extra emissions as the taxi would go
specifically for me. Thinking about Mother Nature hence i decided to march towards bus station and utilise the public transport option. I had to walk for almost a km with my luggage but i was happy that my Carboon footprints on the planet are low.
In school too i always utilised cycle to traverse, In college inspite of having a motorbike, i used cycle unless i was getting late for my lectures. During my stay in germany cycles, skates and public transport was used without exception.
While i worshipped mother nature by my actions above, mother nature too blessed me with good stamina that today running, swimming, cycling or skating for long distances (>20 KM except swimming) comes naturally. During my travels in Europe i would walk for the entire day without getting tired and this ensured i saw more in less days.
I being an Indian dont see nature , rivers and trees as just organisms existing. I am grateful for their selfless existence for me and have personal relationships with each of them. The punya bhoomi of India is Bharat Maata for me, The cows that feed me with their milk are Gau Mata , the rivers which quench my thrist are Ganga Mata and Yamuna Maiya respectively.
Vegetarian food too has also better carbon footprints then its non veg counterpart so i believe i can also sell my carbon footprints in case some country needs to buy :-)

P.S : Trade in carbon footprints is a possibility today and countries do it.
I am not even close to suggesting to stop using all personal vehicles, my only point we may not care about our money spent but we should care about carbon emissions too.
