Indians and Queue

Friends, yesterday when i was waiting for collecting my baggge on the baggage roller at airport, i saw an old Indian lady who i later came to know lives in london. I got my baggage on the baggage roller but her bags were still awaited. I politely asked whether she needs some help in transferring bags from roller to trolley. She replied in affirmative and i waited for her baggage to arrive. Conversation soon followed and she started complaining about the Indian community living in london and said that in Indian events most do not remain in queue and dont wait for their turn to arrive. I agreed with her from my experience in some Indian programs in Germany too but didnt indicate this to her.

As i proceeded further to my next destination at Aiport express metro line was pleasantly surprised to find an automated machine to issue tokens. I stood up in queue for getting tokens but saw a couple jumping the queue and going to the front and i politely reminded them to go to the back to which they complied. one more person came and went to the front of the queue but on politely reminding about queue , he accepted and went to the back.

In Aligarh too few months ago when i went to State Bank of India for some work, saw a young man jumping the queue. I was bit agitated and said "Bhai Meri shakl par kya ch***** likha hai jo main line main khada hoon". The person too accepted the mistake and went back to the queue. I noticed the change in breathing pattern in me last time(Due to me being agitated) but this time i was peaceful but firm.

Learnings for me
1. People are good but have not been groomed to follow queue.
2. Its really better to put your point peacefully rather than being disturbed and saying something for being agitated is an expensive thing for the body and mind.

P.S: If the peaceful method of requesting would have failed i would have gone to nearby security to report.
