Thus spake the Flute

Flute is one of the most ancient musical instruments of the world and has great spiritual significance. The shape of flute resembles that of spine and the seven holes represent seven spiritual chakras viz., Muladhara, Swadisthana, Manipura, Anahata, Vishuddha , Ajna and Sahasrara.

Its remarkable to note that most melodious sound comes through flute, which is hollow and empty and the only requirement is that holes should not be clogged. Similarly when our spiritual chakras are not clogged by unnecessary worries, fear, anger, jealousy, hatred, desires, attachment etc, our life becomes inexplicably beautiful. one can observe such a state manifested in young children and wise saints , of which their authentic smile stands as a testimony.

Even the greatest of the poets have remarked that their best works have come out, when the sense of i-ness had disappeared from them. The greatest of mathematicians , Ramanujan similarly discovered great mathematical truths in Trance, which surprise the world even today.

Yoga is a tool which aims at keeping the body and mind pure so that our being (body and mind) can express the music which God is always invariably playing. Therefore everyone without exception feels happy after purification of being which may have resulted from Yoga, desireless action(Karma Yoga) , wisdom (Jnana Yoga) or even surrender (Sharanagati yoga).

To seek to be an instrument of divine is therefore, one of the greatest prayers. Bhagwan Krishna is also called as leeladhar (director of Play), symbolising that he directs everything. When we are hollow and empty, we can't be but Instrument of divine.
